Las Vegas & McLaren – History:

Symbolic iconography relating to the history and heritage of McLaren and Las Vegas.

  • 1905 & 1963: The founding year of the city of Las Vegas and McLaren are represented by a pair of dice on the lower left-hand side and on the top of the rear deck on the right-hand side.
  • 10 Constructors’ World Championship Stars: Displayed on the rear bumper – nine in white, one in silver leaf – hand-applied by McLaren Formula 1 Team drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, in recognition of the team’s 10th title achieved following the Singapore Grand Prix in October 2025.
  • Championship-Winning Cars: Ten silhouettes commemorating each of McLaren Racing’s championship winning cars, shown in order and dated by championship year, mapped onto racetracks across the car.
  • Muriwai Trophy: Bruce McLaren’s Muriwai Trophy is located on the front right arch, complete with #58, his race number for this first ever race, Muriwai Hill Climb, in New Zealand.
  • Bruce McLaren’s Racing Helmet: Positioned within a heart motif on the front right bumper, this detail pays homage to Bruce McLaren’s 1970 racing helmet, worn during his final season – a symbolic nod to the heart and soul behind the brand.
  • Heritage Speedy Kiwi: Situated on the left-hand side, this motif celebrates McLaren’s original Speedy Kiwi emblem, with an evolved version subtly integrated around the racetrack details – symbolising the brand’s journey from heritage to modern-day innovation.
  • Interior Sills: Each sill features hand-finished messages and signatures from McLaren Formula 1 Team drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, accompanied by a mountain landscape motif rendered in midnight tint.

Las Vegas – Culture & Entertainment

Motifs capturing the energy, motion, and spectacle of Las Vegas nightlife.

  • Neon Arrows: A tribute to the city’s hand-built neon signs, celebrating the shared craftsmanship and creativity that unite Las Vegas and MSO.
  • “Fabulous” Motif: Hidden beneath the rear wing, this hand-painted detail nods to the city’s legendary welcome sign.
  • “Welcome to Fabulous MSO”: Located on the front bonnet, this graphic reimagines Las Vegas’ iconic welcome sign – replacing the original lettering with ‘MSO’ as a nod to McLaren Special Operations.
  • 750S Playing Cards: Stylised card motifs on the rear panel form the 750S lettering, a nod to the McLaren 750S.
  • Commemorative Tokens: Subtle circular details feature across the bodywork, including one marking 120 years of Las Vegas (1905–2025) and others carrying the McLaren Speedmark.
  • Chapel Linework: A hidden reference within the spade motif on the front right bumper, paying homage to the city’s wedding chapels and romantic spirit.
  • Music Notes: Scattered across the rear deck and along the lower left-hand side, these delicate details represent airflow through motion, while celebrating the city’s deep musical culture.

Las Vegas – Landmarks & Architecture:

Geometric references to the city’s skyline and defining structures.

  • Desert Landscape: Flowing wavy linework on the rear right-hand side represents Nevada’s surrounding terrain, mirrored in the design of a racing driver’s helmet.
  • Nevada State Outline: A discreet outline of the state is hidden within the cityscape graphic on the right-hand side.
  • Pyramid Geometry: Subtle angular detailing integrated into the right-hand side of the front bumper, echoing the geometric architecture of Las Vegas’ landmarks.
  • Fountain line-work: Abstract water-like forms flowing into the front bumper intake (right-hand side) representing the iconic fountains found on the Las Vegas Strip.
  • USA Stars: Inspired by the American flag, these subtle stars feature on the right-hand side as a celebration of place and pride.
  • Cactus Motif: A playful cartoon-style cactus on the right-hand side adds character and a touch of Nevada’s desert charm.

MSO, Paints & Techniques:

The concept for Project Viva was brought to life through a series of bespoke, hand-painted details, led by McLaren Special Operations (MSO).

  • “Sketch in Motion”: Project Viva is the first McLaren to feature MSO’s ‘Sketch in Motion’ concept – bringing creative ideas to life through hand-painted artistry. The design translates the freedom of a designer’s sketch onto the 750S bodywork, turning vision into reality.
  • “Vegas Nights”: A new MSO paint colour created exclusively for Project Viva. Developed by McLaren Special Operations colourists, the shade was designed to capture the distinctive atmosphere of Las Vegas after dark. The colour features a deep black base infused with subtle flecks of cyan, magenta and green – tones chosen to reflect the neon glow that defines the city’s skyline. The result is a paint that appears monochrome in shade yet reveals vibrant undertones under light, echoing the energy and luminosity of Las Vegas at night.
  • “Muriwai White”: Within the Muriwai Trophy motif lies a hand-painted outline of Bruce McLaren’s Muriwai House. Its shutters and front door are finished in Muriwai White – an MSO paint shade first created for the 570S Spider, inspired by the whitewashed walls and blue doors of Bruce’s family home in Walton-on-Thames. The hue carries a subtle blue sparkle, symbolising the sea at Muriwai Beach, New Zealand, where Bruce first discovered his passion for racing.
