The presence of water in the stomach raises the level of “pH” to make the medium less acidic.
Researchers conducted an analysis on the use of antacids of a type called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), an antacid drug, and its effect on blood sugar levels in diabetic patients.
Researchers found that antacids can reduce accumulative blood sugar levels by 36% in patients with diabetes.
It was also found that they reduce fasting blood sugar by ten mg/dL, based on the results of seven clinical trials.
