– Introducing greater performance, the latest technological features and a refined design in keeping with Hyundai’s ‘Modern Premium’ brand direction

Hyundai Motor Company has announced thatthe All-New Sonata mid-size sedan will hit Middle East markets in September. Staying true to Hyundai’s acclaimed ‘Modern Premium’ brand direction, the All-New Sonata will offer modern styling, excellent performance and practical application of the latest Hyundai technologies.

This improved 7th generation modelis the result of three years of research and development conducted by Hyundai in the Middle East and around the globe, in order to maximize product competitiveness and satisfy the diverse needs of theMiddle East market.

The Sonata has traditionally been one of Hyundai’s best-selling models across the Middle East, with more than 27,000 units sold across the region in 2013. Since its introduction in 1985, cumulative global sales have reached almost seven million units.

The All-New Sonata is the second model to have been designed using Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 philosophy, following in the footsteps of the All-New Genesis. It boasts a dramatic new exterior look, as well as a new and improved interior, and a design concept that focuses on ‘Inner Force’, a theme that points to evolved aesthetics and confident perfection.

The new modelaims to deliver maximum driver confidence through the inclusion of top safety features and new suspension, which will provide the driver with a smoother overall ride. It also includesadditional safety technologies, such as a Blind Spot Detection, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill Assist Control and Electric Parking Brake. Furthermore, the All-new Sonata will also introduce various features, including Handsfree Trunk Lid, Puddle Lamps under the outside mirrors and HID Xenon headlamps.

An impressive 51 percent of the all-new Sonata’s steel is Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS), increasing stiffness and protecting passengers more effectivelywith improved body structure rigidity. This has helped it to begiven a 2014 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS), a prestigious international honour.

The All-New Hyundai Sonata will initially be offered with a choice of two different engines in the Middle East; a 2.0 L multi-port injection (MPI) anda 2.4 L MPI, with a 6-speed automatic gearbox available for customers in the region.

Tom Lee, Vice President and Head of Hyundai Africa and Middle East Regional Headquarters, commented: “Our aim was to create a world class mid-size sedan through innovation while maintaining the model’s heritage, and we are confident that the All-New Sonata will prove extremely popular with our customers throughout the region once it has gone on sale in September.”
