The First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah has sent an official invitation to Guatemalan Foreign Minister Luis Fernando Carrera Castro to visit Kuwait to discuss bilateral relations.
The invitation was handed to Castro by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Mexico and Non-Resident Ambassador to Guatemala Johar Hayat during a meeting at the Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting discussed issues of mutual concern and means of developing cooperation between the two countries in all fields, Ambassador Hayat said in a press statement Wednesday.
Castro on his part expressed his gratitude for the invitation, cheering the strong relations between Guatemala and Kuwait. The Minister also noted that the bilateral relations which started in 1995 between the two sides have made strides in a short time.
Castro’s predecessor visited Kuwait in January 2013, during the visit three cooperation agreements were signed for diplomatic consultation between two foreign ministers, encouraging investment and entry visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, special and official passports in both countries.
