Continuing with their new and cutting-edge virtual art programmes, HOFA Gallery is announcing their first ever exclusively virtual group exhibition, ‘Here and Now’, which will open to viewers via secure link on April 6 and run until May 3, 2020.

‘Here and Now’ will feature a collection of artworks representing the best of HOFA’s extraordinary cohort of contemporary artists including the likes of; Florian Eymann, Katya Zvereva, Joseph Klibansky, Zhuang Hong Yi, Max Patté, Maxim Wakultschik, Loribelle Spirovski, Anthony James, Romina Ressia, Gianfranco Meggiato, Tian Yonghua, Joel Rea, Dean & James, and Bran Symondson.

A major highlight of the exhibition will be emerging French artist, Florian Eymann, who recently made headlines when his exhibition in Miami sold out before it opened to the public. Eymann’s haunting reconstructions of portraits by Leonardo Da Vinci, Vermeer, Caravaggio and others are instantly unforgettable. His collage and layering techniques ensure that the original portraits are quite recognisable though viewers must contend with the unsettling distortions with which he confounds the original portraits, conjuring something new from something admittedly very well known.

The spotlight will also be on new artworks by emerging Russian artist, Katya Zvareva, who made a splash at the recently concluded Zona Maco 2020 in Mexico City where she sold out as the headline artist at HOFA Gallery’s booth. Her emotive artworks, brimming with raw intensity and rendered in stark contrasting palettes, invite introspection. In contemplating the disoriented interrelationships depicted in her art, viewers find occasion to reflect on the disconcerting dynamics of personal relationships.

Coming at a time when the world is reeling from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic,  HOFA Gallery’s founders are hopeful that ‘Here and Now’ will provide some relief from the emotional and psychological burdens of the current climate, characterised by sudden uncertainty, emotional upheaval, confrontations with mortality and most importantly, irrepressible hope. They expect the exhibition will create a private, virtual space for emotional expression, affirmation, and release.

As Elio D’Anna, Co-founder of HOFA, puts it, “We hope that through this virtual group exhibition, we will create a space for art do what it does best – to serve as a visual language for navigating difficult terrains of human experience and help people find healing and hope. We are happy that lovers of contemporary art around the world can experience ‘Here and Now’ from the comfort of their homes. Putting technology at the service of art in this way is creating very exciting possibilities.”

The latest 3D capturing and rendering technologies have been used to generate the entire collection of artworks in high-resolution for clarity, depth and a truly lifelike experience. ‘Here and Now’ will also include a Virtual Reality (VR) experience accompanied by artist talks and a live DJ set during the launch on 6 April.
