Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) Q.J.S.C. signed a two-year contract with Qatar Navigation Q.S.C. (Milaha) for the time charter of the LPG/C ALMARONA to primarily transport Ammonia exports from Qatar to Muntajat customers around the world.

The contract was signed in a ceremony held in Doha by HE Chairman and Managing Director of Milaha Sheikh Ali bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani and Chief Executive Officer of Muntajat Abdulrahman Ali Al Abdulla.
The LPG/C ALMARONA is a 23,000 cbm capacity gas carrier and is fully owned and managed by Qatar Shipping Company, a fully owned subsidiary of Milaha.

“We have, over the years, built a close relationship with QAFCO and more recently with Muntajat, and we are very pleased to be able to extend this relationship,” said HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani.
“In keeping with Milaha’s continued commitment to safety and the protection of the environment, this ship has been retrofitted with the latest available energy efficiency enhancing devices, which includes the Mewis Duct amongst others, together with the implementation of Energy Management Systems of world leading providers.

This would definitely enhance the operational efficiency and lower the fuel consumption. We aim to continue to serve Muntajat in the best possible manner and bring added value to this sector for Qatar.” Milaha was established in 1957 as the first public shareholding company registered in the State of Qatar and holds commercial registration no. 1. Milaha’s current activities include marine transportation in gas, petroleum products, containers and bulk; offshore support services; port management and operations; logistics services; shipyard; trading agencies; real estate investments; and asset management.

Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat), which was founded in 2012, is a company wholly owned by the Government of the State of Qatar and holds exclusive responsibility for the marketing and distribution of chemical and petrochemical products of the State of Qatar to all global markets.
