Continuing their commitment to nurture and support artistic talent, Silsal Design House has announced the launch of The Studio. Devoted to developing and showcasing the work of emerging artists, The Studio will work with ambitious creatives to develop a collection which will be produced and sold at silsal.com.

Samar Habayeb

Applications are now open and successful applicants will receive an artist’s fee of $2,000 as well as one-to-one mentoring with Silsal’s founder and CEO, Samar Habayeb.  She said: “Support and funding are two of the most precious resources for artists, but unfortunately they are often in short supply. At Silsal, we are deeply committed to creating more opportunities for emerging artists and helping them take their careers to the next level.”

The Studio will give recipients the opportunity to enhance and develop their practice while also providing them with a meaningful platform to showcase their designs. The mentoring programme will focus on how artists can monetise their work and develop a sustainable and scalable business model.

The programme is open to 2D artists of all ages, genders and nationalities. Submission artwork should explore or celebrate the Middle East’s landscape, culture, people, history, environment, or ecology.
