Dubai’s dining scene expands this January with the arrival of ZEA

This January, Dubai will welcome ZEA, a modern Mediterranean lounge and dining sanctuary opening within the Emirates Financial Towers. Inspired by zea, the ancient grain of life revered across the Mediterranean, the venue brings a symbol of nourishment, abundance, and renewal into a contemporary Dubai setting.

ZEA reimagines this ancient mythology through a philosophy rooted in quiet luxury, elemental beauty, and multi-sensory enrichment. Guests enter through curved stone arches into a world shaped by deep olive shadows, warm golden light, sculptural forms, and lush Mediterranean greenery. ZEA offers a sophisticated yet welcoming layout designed for both intimate dining and vibrant late-night experiences, allowing the venue to evolve naturally through mood, rhythm, and ritual. The atmosphere feels grounded and intimate, offering a refuge from the pace of the city.

As evening unfolds, the venue transitions from serene dining to a more expressive lounge ritual. Lighting deepens, shadows sculpt the space, and the music programme evolves in rhythm and pulse, guiding the energy of the night. ZEA is designed to glow, to unfold, and to immerse -never loud, but always magnetic.

“ZEA is built around the idea of modern ritual,” says Benoit Perelli, General Manager of ZEA. “We wanted to create a sanctuary where people can slow down, reconnect, and experience dining as something sensory, grounded, and soulful. Everything at ZEA, from the design to the cuisine to the rhythm of the night, has been crafted to feel intentional, warm, and deeply human.”

The culinary programme, led by Head Chef Donoven Clive Christian, celebrates the purity and generosity of Mediterranean coastal cooking. The cuisine focuses on clean flavours, high-quality produce, and refined fire-driven techniques that enhance ingredients without overpowering them.

The menu features a progression of bright, refined starters, from delicate seafood preparations to Mediterranean ceviches with subtle Peruvian touches. Warm plates highlight fire-kissed seafood and modern Mediterranean comfort, while the signature mains reflect bold yet balanced flavours through premium proteins, expressive sauces, and handcrafted pastas.

ZEA’s beverage programme mirrors its culinary identity through freshness and elegance. Cocktails highlight Mediterranean herbs, aromatics, and citrus – layered with understated Peruvian influences for depth and character.

The wine direction focuses on Old World terroir, with selections from France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Lebanon, and coastal North Africa. The list features refined whites, structured reds, elegant rosés, and a curated champagne range crafted to pair seamlessly with the menu and the venue’s energy.

ZEA offers a sophisticated yet welcoming layout designed for both intimate dining and vibrant late-night experiences.

Above all, ZEA is a place of connection – a sanctuary where guests gather to share food, music, and presence. Ancient in spirit yet modern in execution, it offers a dining and nightlife experience shaped by ritual, warmth, and contemporary Mediterranean elegance.

ZEA opens January 2026. Further details on reservations and other details will be shared soon.
