H.E. Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, attended a National Day reception hosted by H.E. Abdulaziz Akkulov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan, reaffirming the enduring friendship and partnership between the UAE and Uzbekistan

His Excellency Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, attended a reception this evening hosted by H.E. Abdulaziz Akkulov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates, on the occasion of his country’s National Day.

The event, held at The St. Regis Corniche Hotel in Abu Dhabi, was attended by several senior officials, heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to the UAE, and members of the Uzbek community residing in the country.

In his address, Ambassador Akkulov expressed his delight in celebrating the 34th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence, describing it as a cherished national occasion that embodies the spirit of pride, identity, and continuous progress.

The Ambassador extended special thanks to H.E. Suhail Al Mazrouei for gracing the event with his presence, emphasizing that independence is not merely a date in history but the cornerstone of Uzbekistan’s identity and the driving force behind its ongoing development.

He noted that over the past three decades, Uzbekistan has achieved remarkable progress in economic growth, institutional reform, and international engagement, guided by the vision of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is leading the country toward a more open, innovative, and citizen-focused society.

Ambassador Akkulov highlighted that the year 2025 marks a significant chapter in bilateral relations following the official visit of President Mirziyoyev to the UAE in January, during which a Strategic Partnership Agreement was signed in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

He stressed that the agreement reflects both nations’ shared commitment to deepening cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including investment, trade, healthcare, green energy, and digital transformation.

The Ambassador also noted that Uzbekistan and the UAE are celebrating the 33rd anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year, reaffirming that the UAE remains one of Uzbekistan’s most forward-looking and strategic partners.

During his remarks, Ambassador Akkulov made two important announcements.

First, he officially announced the establishment of the Uzbekistan Business Council in the United Arab Emirates — a new platform aimed at strengthening trade, attracting investment, and fostering closer ties between the two nations’ business communities. He invited all relevant stakeholders to join the council and benefit from its collaborative initiatives.

Second, he announced Uzbekistan’s participation in the Sheikh Zayed Festival, expressing gratitude to the UAE leadership for their continued support and for providing a platform to showcase Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage. The Uzbek pavilion will be open from November 2025 through March 2026, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the warmth and hospitality of Uzbek culture.

In conclusion, Ambassador Akkulov extended heartfelt appreciation to the UAE government and people for their constant support, hospitality, and genuine friendship. He also thanked the event’s key sponsors — including Aksum, Alokozay, Masdar, and TAQA Water Solutions — as well as the embassy and consulate teams for their efforts in making the celebration a success.
