Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem, has announced the launch of Hub71+ Life Sciences, a specialised platform designed to accelerate the development, validation, and commercialisation of health innovations across biotechnology, medical technology, and digital health.

Unveiled during Hub71’s annual Impact Event, the initiative positions Abu Dhabi as a global launchpad for founders and startups in the life sciences domain. The platform offers access to a powerful network of regulators, investors, hospitals, and industry leaders, enabling founders to move from scientific discovery to real-world patient outcomes with speed and impact.

A Dedicated Launchpad for HealthTech and Biotech Startups

Through Hub71+ Life Sciences, entrepreneurs will benefit from direct engagement with Abu Dhabi’s integrated health ecosystem—from early clinical validation to market access and scale. The initiative builds on Hub71’s existing track record of supporting nearly 300 startups, which have collectively raised AED 9 billion and generated AED 5 billion in revenue.

“Since 2019, Hub71 has supported hundreds of startups that have helped shape Abu Dhabi’s innovation landscape,” said Ahmad Ali Alwan, CEO of Hub71.

“With Hub71+ Life Sciences, we are creating a dedicated environment where founders, researchers, investors, and market players can come together to drive healthcare innovation. Our aim is to support the development of breakthrough solutions that enhance global health outcomes and reinforce Abu Dhabi’s leadership in healthcare.”

Strategic Alignment with Leading Health Authorities

Hub71+ Life Sciences launches in strategic partnership with Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE), and the HELM cluster (Health, Endurance, Longevity and Medicine), all serving as Founding Partners. Together, they aim to build a high-performing life sciences economy rooted in precision medicine, biomanufacturing, and data-driven care.

The initiative is further supported by Anchor Partners including the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA), Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and Ultrahuman. In total, 12 partners will collaborate with startups to fast-track research and regulatory pathways, pilot innovations, and unlock investment opportunities.

Fuelled by Regional Growth and Investment

The launch comes at a time of rising investment in regional healthcare. The MENA healthcare services market is projected to reach $412 billion by 2032, with countries like the UAE prioritising health innovation as a strategic pillar of economic growth and resilience.

Hub71+ Life Sciences aims to channel this momentum by offering startups access to regulatory support, funding, clinical trials, and proof-of-concepts, creating a collaborative environment where shared value can be generated for all stakeholders.

Part of a Growing Innovation Network

Hub71+ Life Sciences joins a growing portfolio of sector-specific specialist ecosystems, including Hub71+ Digital Assets, Hub71+ ClimateTech, and Hub71+ AI. Each of these platforms targets key national priorities and global challenges by bringing together entrepreneurs, corporates, and policymakers to co-create future-ready solutions.

With this latest addition, Abu Dhabi further cements its role as a magnet for innovation and a global centre for high-impact startups, particularly in health and life sciences.
