Landmark Group Earmarks 50 New Stores for the UAE by Q4 2015

    Reinforces Presence in Dubai Festival City Mall with Simultaneous Launch of Centrepoint, Max and Emax

Landmark Group, the region’s leading retail and hospitality conglomerate, aims to open 50 new stores across the UAE by end-2015 taking the consolidated store count in the country to over 550 and total retail area to almost eight million square feet.

The announcement was made at a media briefing ahead of the launch of three new stores at Dubai Festival City Mall (DFCM). The popular creek-side mixed-use destination developed by Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate has now opened doors to Landmark Group’s popular concepts Centrepoint, Max and Emax spanning 100,000 square feet of retail space across two floors.

Vipen Sethi, CEO, Landmark Group, said: “Strategically, growing our presence in Dubai Festival City Mall is an important step in our expansion plans in the UAE. With the nation gearing up to host more than 20 million visitors in 2020, the nation’s leadership has a commitment to strengthen infrastructure and upgrade tourist offerings. As a retailer catering to the masses, we also seek to simultaneously growing our presence across destination malls and community centres in strong catchment areas.”

He added: “Dubai Festival City Mall is a favoured destination for a number of residents in the UAE for its range of retail and hospitality outlets that cater to eclectic tastes. We are confident that the entry of our reputed brands will add a new dimension to the mall’s existing portfolio.”

8b1627015624e944_orgCentrepoint, which celebrated the launch of its 100th store a few months ago, houses four of the Group’s most popular concepts – Babyshop, Splash, Lifestyle and Shoe Mart. Max is the largest value fashion brand in the Middle East, North Africa and India, while Emax Electronics is the largest electronics retail chain in the Middle East with outlets across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain. The concepts have evolved as household names in their respective categories in all territories where they have their presence.

Dubai Festival City Mall is strategically located to cater to a wide segment of residents in the affluent Al Badia and neighbouring areas including Ras Al Khor, Al Warqaa and Rashidiya. The Red Line of the Dubai Metro also makes it easily accessible to residents.

Committed to growing its presence in Dubai, Landmark Group currently operates over 270 stores in the emirate where it enjoys the loyalty of over one million active Shukran customers. In a bid to offer customers in the UAE a truly omni-channel retail experience, the Group has integrated its loyalty programme Shukran with its e-commerce portal Landmarkshops.com.
