General Directorate of Customs Chairman Ahmed bin Ali Al Mohannadi on Tuesday met a delegation from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection headed by its commissioner Gil Kerlikowske on the sidelines of their visit to Qatar, which aims to enhance cooperation between organizations involved in air transport.

Al Mohannadi highlighted the importance of the visit that comes as part of cooperation between the two customs departments in relation to the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) agreement on the development of air transport.
The meeting touched on cooperation between the customs departments and their partners at security institutions that take care of border protection.

The two sides also reviewed cooperation with the International Civil Aviation Organization and other related regional and global organizations.
Earlier Monday, HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani graced the Inauguration of IATA’s 70th annual general meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit in Doha .Qatar Airways (QA) organises the 2-day event being held at the Ritz Carlton hotel.
