UAE win FEI Endurance World Championship for Young Horses in Italy

The Emirati riders clinched the team and individual gold medals at the 120-kilometer FEI Endurance World Championship for Young Horses at the Arborea fields on the Italian island of Sardinia.

The event was organised under the supervision of the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) and witnessed the participation of around 100 riders from 22 countries worldwide.

Emirati rider Rashid Saeed Hamad Al Ketbi added the individual title for the fifth time in the history of the UAE’s participation in the championship after winning the individual category on his horse with a time of 4:53:08 hours. Bahraini rider Ma’youf Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi finished second with a time of 5:02:46 hours, while a French rider came in third with 5:18:08 hours.

The Emiratis also secured the team title, represented by the riders Salem Hamad Malhouf, Rashid Saeed Al Ketbi, Saeed Ahmed Al Shamsi, Saeed Salem Al Muhairi, and Saif Jumaa Beljafla. The French team came, while the Italian team finished third.

The UAE increased its tally to 5 titles in the history of its participation in the championship over the past ten years. The golden journey began at the World Championship in Italy in 2014, maintaining the title in the following edition in 2015, also in Italy, before reclaiming it in Slovakia in 2018. They won again in Pisa, Italy, in 2019 and then Sardinia in 2021, before repeating the achievement by capturing the title for the fifth time in Sardinia 2024.
