The second edition of Skift Global Forum East (SGFE) commenced at the illustrious Atlantis The Royal in Dubai, setting the stage for a groundbreaking three-day event from December 12 to 14.

The forum witnessed a spectacular first day featuring insightful talks and panels, showcasing a diverse array of influential figures in the global travel industry. The conference, a hub for CEOs, thought leaders, and innovators from prominent travel brands worldwide, boasts an immersive experience designed to shape the future landscape of the travel industry, with a special emphasis on the dynamic Middle East region.

Key Highlights from Day One:

The day kicked off with a warm welcome from Rafat Ali, Skift Founder & CEO, followed by an enlightening Skift Advisory Presentation by Oliver Martin, Senior Director of Skift Advisory. The morning continued with discussions led by industry titans such as Alex Lee of Jumeirah Group, and Mark Kirby of Emaar, among others.

Throughout the day, thought-provoking sessions covered a spectrum of topics, from regenerative tourism and driving new demand to a hybrid session exploring perspectives beyond a Western lens. The day’s highlights also included insights on the “Next Normal” in travel, the future of luxury travel, and the exponential growth of the experience economy.

Noteworthy presentations included a wellness moment powered by Atlantis, a Skift Research presentation by Seth Borko, and a captivating look inside Saudi’s newest luxury destination presented by Billy Canellas, Head of Asset Management at NEOM.

Looking Ahead to Day Two:

Skift Global Forum East 2023 is set to continue its momentum with a second day of engaging discussions, including sessions on GenAI in travel, Saudi tourism, and the evolving landscape of Chinese travelers.
