In early 2020, Sunway Resort Hotel embarked on the most extensive renovation in its 25-year history, with an investment of US$60 million. A series of experiential new rooms and suites have already been unveiled, including dedicated options for wellness seekers, corporate guests and premium travellers, all underpinned by a stylish design concept and state-of-the-art technology. Now, this iconic resort has unveiled the next exciting phase of its transformation, with a series of fresh facilities and accommodation tailored to the needs of families.
Fresh family leisure facilities
Kids will be immersed in a world of aquatic fun and adventure at Waterventure, a bright and colourful outdoor splash zone featuring shallow pools, a water playground and a host of exhilarating recreational activities. Little ones will love cooling down during the day with slides and tipping buckets, while parents can chill out on the shore with sun loungers and shady parasols.
Youngsters will also be inspired, educated and entertained at Wonderland Explorers, the resort’s new kids’ club, which comes fully equipped with fun activities, interactive games, quiet corners and technology rooms. Sunway Resort Hotel has collaborated with the Jeffrey Sachs Center On Sustainable Development to showcase the importance of sustainability, and with Science Bridge Academy to inspire kids to love science and expose them to the impact scientific applications have on our world. Kids will even be able to visit the rooftop farm.
Families can also unwind in style at the resort’s tropical freeform Swimming Pool, which has been completely reimagined and now features lush foliage, cascading waterfalls, LED lights and underwater speakers. Homemade hand-stretched pizzas can be ordered from Sunset Terrace and thirst-quenching drinks can be sipped at the poolside bar.
While young guests are being fully engaged, their parents can keep up their fitness routine at the newly-revitalized Health Club, which is powered by Technogym. Open 24 hours a day, this state-of-the-art gym offers a holistic fitness experience from cardio-vascular and resistance machines to free weights and more. Gym memberships are also available.
Family-focused rooms and suites
The new Waterventure Terrace rooms offer 45 square metres of space for two adults and two children, kids’ bathroom amenities, bathrobes and slippers, and state-of-the-art technology including a 55-inch IPTV, complimentary Wi-Fi, smart curtains, motion sensor night lights, wireless chargers, a walk-in chromotherapy shower and more! The terrace of each room also offers direct access to Waterventure, the resort’s aqua play zone where little ones can make a splash!
Alternatively, the new Family Terrace rooms are especially designed to let families stay and play together in style. With 55 square metres of bright, naturally-lit living space, these attractive rooms can comfortably accommodate two adults and two kids, with special children’s amenities, bathrobes and slippers, and a bathtub with TV. Guests can enjoy pool views from the balcony. Connecting Family Terrace rooms are also available for large families.
Finally, the Family Fun Suites come fully equipped with a separate entertainment zone including karaoke, gaming consoles, big screen entertainment and complimentary kids’ treats, including healthy snacks and sweets! The suite comfortably sleeps two adults and two children, with two IPTVs in the room. All ages will be treated to a delicious daily breakfast at the Sunset Terrace, which includes a dedicated children’s buffet area.
