HIA Announces Four Additional Airlines to Begin Operations This Week

Hamad International Airport ”HIA”

Hamad International Airport (HIA) announced Monday that four additional airlines will commence their operations from the new aviation hub this week with passengers travelling from May 22nd on Lufthansa, Air France KLM, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Oman Air arriving and departing from HIA instead of Doha International Airport (DIA).
The first arriving and departing flights will be: Oman Air: Flight WY667 from Seeb International Airport in Muscat, arriving to HIA at 03:00, and flight WY668 to Seeb International Airport in Muscat, departing from HIA at 04:35 Saudi Arabian Airline: Flight SV542 from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, arriving to HIA at 13:10, and flight SV543 to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, departing from HIA at 14:10 Air France KLM: Flight KL441 from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, arriving to HIA at 18:00, and continuing onto Seeb International Airport in Muscat, departing from HIA at 18:45 Lufthansa: Flight LH620 from Frankfurt Airport arriving to HIA at 20:10, and continuing onto Bahrain International Airport, departing from HIA at 21:10 Abdulaziz Al-Mass, Senior Manager, Public Relations and Communications, DIA/HIA said: “HIA airline operations are gaining momentum with four additional airlines moving from DIA this week. HIA will now service 19 airlines offering passengers a seamless travel experience through the world-class gateway we have created for our departing, arriving or transferring guests. This is an extremely exciting period for us and our key goal during the transition from DIA to HIA is to ensure all our travellers are informed and their travel plans are undisrupted.” This latest announcement is part of the ongoing phased opening of HIA following the soft opening on April 30th, and the upcoming full opening on May 27th. Qatar Airways, the five-star national airline of the State of Qatar, will move its operations to HIA on May 27th.
