UTC commemorates its 50th anniversary with a renovated Abu Dhabi showroom and the Design ME Award.
Universal Trading Company (UTC), a name that has become synonymous with high-quality home and kitchen appliances, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the region in 2023.
UTC is the exclusive UAE distributor of world-renowned home and kitchen brands such as Nolte Küchen, AEG, IGNIS, and Turbo Air, among others and has been supplying European kitchens and appliances to large-scale residential and retail projects and direct consumers such as Tilal Al Ghaf project Harmony 1, 2 and 3.
A testament to its commitment to excellence is the renovation of its famed Abu Dhabi showroom, which also received the award for Best Independent Kitchen Showroom in Dubai at the Design ME Awards 2022. Organised by Design Middle East, a magazine that brings together a carefully curated selection of architecture and interiors from the Gulf, Levant, and beyond, the Design Middle East Awards celebrates the creative best and foremost from the region’s design and architecture industry.
Located on the prime street of the capital, UTC’s showroom in Abu Dhabi is a 288sqm. space that showcases five kitchen displays, with a full range of home and kitchen appliances from UTC’s portfolio of premium European brands.
The showroom recently held its grand launch, which was attended by Katja Decker, Head of Press and Economic Affairs of the German Embassy Abu Dhabi, notable members of the media, movers and shakers of the industry such as Lana Kaati from UAE Moms Group and Nisrine Harfnoon, a renowned interior designer.
Aside from touring the expansive showroom, guests were able to watch cooking demonstrations by renowned Chef Amna Al Hashemi, founder of Mitts & Trays Café Restaurant and Another One Catering, and sample her delectable culinary creations at the event.
