The multi-award-winning venue has launched a concept inspired by the premieres at La Scala di Milano over the last 200+ years.
Having dominated Dubai’s fine dining and nightlife scene for over ten years in a row, DIFC’s first Italian restaurant, Roberto’s, has decided to take it one step further and showcase the best of global mixology, at its new lounge bar, fittingly named ‘Bar Scala’.
Presenting an exclusive and luxurious cocktail experience, Bar Scala will open its grand doors to the public from the 3rd of November onwards. Operating from 8 pm till 3 am, the luxurious venue will feature a late-night DJ performance to add to the lively ambience.
Inspired by one of the world’s most famous opera houses, the bar is the perfect blend of innovation and nostalgia. The two masterminds behind this extravagant creation are none other than Roberto’s skilled Bar Manager, Vasile Dorofeev and Managing Director, Andrea Zampolini.
Vasile’s love for Opera has been incorporated into Bar Scala’s menu, showcasing an array of revitalizing and invigorating cocktails. With each beverage representing a classical act, the number of ingredients in the beverage is linked to the number of acts in every Opera, in the company of philosophical, ethnic and gastronomic characteristics tied to the subject and place of action of every play.
Vasile Dorofeev marks this journey as, “La Prima – translates from Italian The Premiere, a liquid journey of creation born from the synergy of Italian Dolce Vita where simplicity is the highest expression of perfection. The Bar Scala menu consists of 10 crafted cocktails to commemorate a decade of experiences and memories tailored by Roberto’s and represent the evolution and new vision of the brand. La Prima is about storytelling in the form of spirits and flavours, a liquid “opera libretto” of the most famous Italian operas.”
Beginning with a cocktail inspired by The Swan Of Catania’s famed opera act, Il Pirata is a unique beverage infused with Agua de Jamaica and Prickly Pear Rum. Inclusive of three acts is The Madame Butterfly, comprising of Kinobi Gin, Japan Blue Lillet and a perfect bittered Suze. These new cocktails are a representation of La Scala’s high standards, which resonate with the refined taste and expectations of its patrons.

At Bar Scala, the show continues when we close the ‘Sipario’ (Curtain in Italian). With a live DJ set from 10 pm until late night, Bar Scala becomes Scala Privé, and the night goes on. Through award-prevailing bartenders and delicate drinks, Bar Scala’s desires and aspirations will raise traditional cocktails to inspiring new levels. The group at Roberto’s are ready to serve visitors simply the best they deserve.
