Zamil Higher Institute for Industrial Training recently signed a two-year renewable training agreement with El-Seif Engineering Contracting Company. The Institute will provide three two-year diploma programs for 180 of their newly recruited Saudi employees in the following disciplines: Welding and Fabrication Technology, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology, and Manufacturing and Production Technology.

Dr. Mohamed Abdulla Sharif, the director of the Institute, stated that the newly recruited employees will be trained to become competent technicians in the above-mentioned disciplines. He also stated that the training programs will focus on developing the practical skills of the trainees by providing ample opportunities for them to fully utilize industrial-type equipment and simulators that are available at the Institute’s workshops and laboratories while they are guided and supervised by highly qualified and experienced trainers.

He added that the diploma programs are accredited by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and that they are designed in such a way that key skills, such as communication, teamwork, problem solving and decision making, are developed alongside technical skills in the three disciplines.

The trainees will be assessed on a continual basis throughout the duration of the diploma programs through different types of theoretical and practical tests, short quizzes, case studies, special assignments, and end-of-semester examinations. This will also ensure that their progress is monitored on a regular basis to identify the level of skills acquired and to help trainees overcome any difficulties they may encounter during the training period. The entire program will enhance and develop their specialist skills and knowledge.
