The event discussed various topics and trends around the investment landscape including investment fundamentals and cross-border investing, and was attended by a respectable round of speakers and investors such as Brigitte Baumann, Founder of Efino, Amer Al-Kahtani, CEO of Business Development at SDAIA, Miguel Martin, President of SDGs Science, at World Business Angels Investment Forum, Alexandre Massart, Co-Founder of Blend Ventures, and Keith Wallace, Chairman of Business Angel Networks Netherlands, Nina Dremelj, President of Slovenia Business Angels and Leonardo Giagnoni, Managing Director of the Italian Business Angels and they were more than happy to answer audiences’ burning questions in the “Q&A” part of the event as well as give their insights on how to help shape a sustainable startup community and how to scale your businesses.

One of the event’s core activities was with Mediterranean Angels’ roundtable discussion on “Building A Vision For The Future” which featured more than 20 investors in-person and virtually debating what the future looks like for angel investors, seed-stage investing and cross-border investing and deal syndication. Participants included were investors from Business Angels of Slovenia, Italian Angels for Growth, keymon ventures, AUC Angels, Carthage Business Angels, Alexandria Business Angels, Blend Ventures, LoftyInc Capital Management, Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP), Moonbase Capital, HIM Angel, Flat6labs, and Dealroom.

The Mediterranean Angels pitch featured startups of diverse blend of industries including: Agritech, Green-Tech, Bio-Tech, Retail-Tech, AI, and Ecommerce and the total ask was over 11 Million Euros.

This year, Techne kicked things up a notch by adding a little spice that highlighted the Startup Business Academy Track. This track was dedicated to all the startups that needed that extra push to help them make it big and reach product-market fit and international success, one round after the other, moreover it shed light on important topics in HealthTech, Sustainability & Clean Technologies.

Techne Summit Dubrovnik was under the Patronage Of The City Of Dubrovnik. It included more than 150 participants, 30+ speakers, 20 startups and more than 18 investors that flew in from several parts of the world to take part in the event, which was sponsored by MED Angels, GIZ and Hivos .
