The UAE continues to maintain its lead in the world in the proportion of people receiving vaccinations.  It was revealed during the weekly briefing on the coronavirus situation in the UAE on Tuesday.

Official said that this indicates the strength of the health sector infrastructure to contain the pandemic and protect society from its health repercussions in a safe and reassuring manner.

According to Bloomberg’s index of countries’ resilience to the COVID-19 pandemic, the UAE has advanced 9 ranks compared to last August, ranking sixth globally and first regionally.

Official at the weekly briefing urged that we must preserve the progress that has been achieved by continuing to adhere to precautionary and preventive measures and adherence to health and safety standards in all circumstances and cases, until achieving a full recovery.

Official quoted His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as announcing that the UAE has passed the most difficult part of the challenge.

The UAE has dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic according to a proactive strategy and a single Emirati model that works according to indicators and studies approved by the state to ensure the progress of the new normal life.

“We value the role of all sectors and the extent of their cooperation to reach this stage and the results we are witnessing. We also value the public’s role, awareness and commitment to various precautionary and preventive measures. Today, we are reaping the fruits of national efforts, with a significant decrease in the infection rate,” official said at the briefing.

Official further said that we all must join hands and cooperate with each other in order to succeed in the gradual return to a new normal lifestyle while continuing to maintain our healthy habits and behaviours that we acquired throughout the pandemic period, which directly contributed to reducing the number of injuries and raising levels of recovery.

“This crisis proved that adhering to precautionary measures had the greatest role in protecting everyone, in addition to taking vaccinations, which contributed to ensuring the health and recovery of society,” official said.

“So it is important to adopt habits and practices that guarantee the health and safety of everyone, such as the obligation to wear masks, participate in social events, while leaving a safe distance that protects against various viruses, ensuring that periodic checks are conducted and maintaining continuous sterilisation.”

Authorities call l upon public to support national efforts, commitment and cooperation by adhering to the measures that have been announced, as the risk of infection is still present and the world is still facing the threat of this epidemic.
