Mcm And Urwahn Celebrate Wellness & Freedom With First Luxury E-Bike

MCM is all about the journey — on the road, yes, but also into the future. The house traces its roots back to the swinging spirit of 1970s Munich, but with eyes fixed firmly forward. MCM’s AW21 M’ETAVERSE collection heralds a bold step toward the future of travel: its first 3-D printed luxury e-bike, made in partnership with URWAHN and strictly limited to just 50 units worldwide.

This category expansion is a bold leap forward for the MCM lifestyle, toward a place where wellness and sustainability exist in natural harmony with freedom and empowerment. It celebrates MCM’s 45-year heritage in mobility, while reflecting customers’ desire to live more conscious lifestyles — boldly stepping from inside to out, from leisure to wellness, from now into the future.

The category-first ebike is captured in the brand’s AW21 M’ETAVERSE campaign, featuring musician A$AP Nast alongside models and digital creators Stella Lucia and Kiddy Akita. Styled in full looks from the collection, these style icons and modern creatives encapsulate MCM’s commitment to freedom, empowerment, and inclusivity.

MCM has developed an exclusive rendition of URWAHN’s instantly recognizable Platzhirsch frame, which combines the freedom of pedal power with high-performance electrical engineering. The bikes are designed, developed, and produced in Germany, ensuring minimal shipping emissions, before they’re hand-assembled by one of URWAHN’s highly skilled craftsmen in Magdeburg. Each one is precision-engineered from steel, which offers unparalleled performance while being easier to service and recycle than aluminium and carbon.

The MCM x URWAHN e-bike features a 3D-printed steel frame which has been fully coppered and wrapped with a black oralite rendition of MCM’s iconic Visetos monogram. The MCM logo is emblazoned upon the bike’s custom brass front plate and Brooks Cambium grips, while a reflective logo hit can be found inside the bike’s custom rims.

Ten bikes will be showcased exclusively at MCM flagship stores from September 22nd. Each of the remaining 40 will be online exclusives, made to order starting October 1st. They will each proudly sport their edition number on the MCM-branded brass front plate. Included with every bike is an exclusive matching stainless steel water bottle, developed in collaboration with 24Bottles®.

“We wanted to develop a collaboration which celebrates the essence of movement from the past to the future. We are proud to collaborate with URWAHN to introduce the world’s first luxury e-bike. URWAHN is a quintessentially German company renowned for its quality engineering and is the perfect partner with whom we can celebrate our 45-year legacy.” — Dirk Schönberger, Chief Creative Officer

“In the context of the MCM x URWAHN collaboration, we have created a unique impact in urban mobility, in which we have merged the luxuriousness of MCM with the innovative power of URWAHN. The result is a powerful and strictly limited e-bike that is unparalleled in form, color and function. Especially in the design, we have profoundly incorporated all facets of both brands, resulting in a sophisticated look and a sustainably oriented added value. A technological masterpiece as an interpretation of two worlds that will enjoy great popularity on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of MCM”. — Sebastian Meinecke, Founder & CEO of URWAHN.
