Allurion Technologies announced the availability of its Gastric Balloon technology, the first and only weight loss tool in the world without surgery, endoscopy or anaesthesia, for use by those aged 16 to 65 years in selected clinics in the UAE.
Previously it was only available for those at least 18 years old.
The technology will contribute to providing a reliable solution for adolescents who suffer from obesity and overweight problems in the country, which represents 1 in 4 people.
The Allurion programme will support long-term weight loss in adolescents aged 16 years and over through the innovative gastric balloon, which gives the user a feeling of satiety because it fills a large part of the stomach, saving patients the hassle of dieting regimes and the feeling of hunger that accompanies them.
