The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has successfully concluded its ‘Sharjah Summer 2021 Campaign’ with a huge turnout of visitors who availed the wide range of promotions, amazing experiences, and exclusive offers in Sharjah’s luxury hotels to spend their summer vacation.

The campaign, which ran from July 15 to August 28, has achieved its aim of promoting the emirate’s unique attractions and competitive features. It further strengthened Sharjah’s leading position as a family-friendly destination, which provides exceptional, integrated, and high-quality experiences supported by a wide array of world-class hospitality facilities.

The ‘Sharjah Summer 2021’ was organised in line with SCTDA’s commitment to introduce leading initiatives and innovative tourism marketing and promotions that exceed the expectations of visitors and tourists alike and boost local tourism development. The latest campaign featured exclusive offers, including various hotel packages ideal for families. These special offers were designed to increase local tourism activities and highlight the key attraction and latest tourism projects in the emirate.

Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) commented: “We are delighted to witness the positive results of the ‘Sharjah Summer 2021’ campaign which provided visitors and tourists with many different experiences, activities, and a wide range of options on where to stay during their vacation in Sharjah, amidst the current challenges in international travel and tourism. In cooperation with our strategic partners, we are proud that we have maintained our key strengths and provide local tourism products and services that continue to attract visitors and tourists to the emirate. This achievement strongly reflects Sharjah’s appeal as a preferred destination in both the local and global tourism map.

This year’s campaign has achieved its goal of supporting the country’s efforts to increase domestic tourism and promote Sharjah as an ideal summer destination for families, with a diverse range of activities and experiences. This campaign further contributed to helping achieve the Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021 and SCTDA’s efforts to consolidate the emirate’s position as a key player in international tourism. This success is a testament to our strong global presence and the return of normal life in Sharjah, both at the economic and social levels. This was made possible following a commitment with our partners to ensure 100 % compliance to all safety and preventive measures and provide a safe environment that meets the highest standards in comfort and security, ensuring the health and safety of visitors from within the UAE and abroad.”

Al Midfa added: “The success of this year’s edition encourages us to continue developing Sharjah’s tourism sector in line with our unwavering commitment to raise the level of quality in tourism services and organize pioneering events and initiatives which offer premium experiences that lure more visitors, thereby cementing the emirate’s position as a destination of choice for entertainment and cultural activities. Our main focus is to highlight Sharjah’s world-class features and attractions as well as boost local tourism which is a vital contributor to diversifying the economy. Sharjah is renowned as a top destination for families because of its wide variety of tourism experiences that meet the taste and preferences of people of all ages and interests. By investing in our capabilities and assets, we can bolster the tourism sector and expedite economic recovery.”

Sharjah’s east coast is among the most attractive places for both local and international tourists. It has diverse terrain, beautiful beaches, breathtaking mountain views, and oases, which can be found in areas such as Dibba Al-Hisn, Khorfakkan, and Kalba. These nature destinations can be reached in less than an hour from the city of Sharjah, giving visitors the opportunity to explore islands and wildlife reserves, which are centers of biodiversity and habitats for many species of birds, terrestrial and marine animals.

This year’s campaign included several initiatives including collaboration with several UAE-based celebrities and social media influencers, who promoted the emirate’s tourism elements, destinations, and new projects. To attract visitors, Sharjah Summer 2021 offered visitors and tourists the opportunity to experience various activities, including an interactive competition which was launched via the Instagram account (@visit_shj), providing an opportunity for the participants to win prizes, which were announced at the end of the campaign.

During the Sharjah Summer 2021, SCTDA partnered with 15 of the leading hotels in the emirate which offered exclusive packages and offers throughout the campaign while ensuring compliance to the precautionary measures and protecting visitors’ and residents’ safety and comfort. Sharjah is famous for its integrated tourism experiences, preserving its Arab heritage amidst modernity, and offering one destination for a wide range of tourist attractions, family destinations, outdoor adventures, and scenic nature.
