First Ras Al Khaimah Beach Tennis Championship BT200 off to perfect start

The inaugural edition of the Ras Al Khaimah BT200 Championship kicked off at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Hotel and Resort on Monday.

The three-day competition is being supervised by UAE Tennis Federation and supported by Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.  EMPower Sports Services are the organisers of the event which carries a prize purse of $15000.

With the final scheduled for Wednesday, the Ras Al Khaimah will also host the second edition of the BT200 Championship beginning on April 16.

Nasser Yousuf Al Marzouqi, General Secretary of UAE Tennis Federation, said: “With the participation of best ranked players and a huge prize purse further cement the UAE’s position as a sporting destination for the region.

“We have been blessed with such a beautiful coastline which suits events of this nature,” he added.

“The organization of beach tennis tournaments in the UAE will help our players to sharpen their skills for future events.”
