Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has issued guidelines for getting the vaccine in the emirate.

The DHA said three documents are required when visiting DHA COVID-19 vaccination facilities:

-Emirates ID

-Copy of valid Dubai residence visa

-A medical report proving that you have a chronic disease

DHA announces that it is providing the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. It is part of DHA’s commitment to provide the public a choice of different vaccines.

The DHA announced that it stopped taking appointments for COVID-19 PCR testing at Al Barsha Health Centre since February 3, 2021.

Customers can book appointments for COVID-19 PCR testing at other DHA Primary Health Care Centres that include: Nad Al Hamar Health Centre, Al Mankhool Health Centre, Al Twar Health Centre, Nad Al Sheba Health Centre and Al Lusaily Health Centre.

Customers can download the DHA App or call 800342 to book an appointment at one of these centres.

Dr Amer Ahmad Sharif, head of Dubai’s COVID-19 Command and Control Centre spoke to Bloomberg Business on COVID-19 latest development in the emirate.

Dr Amer said, “We are meeting our target to vaccinate 50 per cent of Dubai population of eligible adults by the end of March 2021. We expect 100 per cent vaccination of the Dubai population by the fourth quarter of 2021.

Dr Amer said the UAE is one of the world’s leading countries to ramp up vaccination. “We have seen a great response to our vaccination campaign from the Dubai community, and I would like to thank them for their sense of responsibility.”

He also said, “We have been very agile in our ability to surge capacity in our healthcare system, through very successful public-private sector partnerships. We are able to cater to all COVID patients who require treatment in Dubai.”

Dr Farida Al Hosani, official spokesperson for the UAE Health Sector, explained that all COVID-19 vaccines available in the UAE are both safe and effective. They have undergone rigorous testing and clinical trials to ensure their safety, efficacy and quality.

Dr Farida said, “Protect yourself by choosing to vaccinate and continuing to wear a mask, regularly sanitise, practice physical distancing and follow all safety precautions. For more details on how to receive your free Covid-19 vaccine, visit http://doh.gov.ae”
