The UAE has become a symbol of prosperity and achievements in the past 49 years. Today the adorable country is celebrating its 49th National Day.

Sheikha Hind Bint Majid Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Business Women Council (SBWC) told Gulf Today that under the UAE’s wise and ambitious leadership, the country’s remarkable achievements in priority sectors have enhanced its dominance in the economic and socio-cultural spheres at both the regional and global levels. The celebration of the UAE National Day on December 2 each year, she added, is an opportunity for UAE citizens to renew their loyalty to their country and commemorate the leaders who laid the solid foundations of the country 49 years ago.”

Marwan Bin Jassim Al Sarkal, Executive Chairman of  Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), said:  We congratulate our leadership, citizens and residents on the 49th UAE National Day, as we aspire for bigger achievements and more global praise in years to come. The UAE today enjoys a leading position on both regional and international levels – an outcome of the consistent efforts of our dedicated leaders and people – to place our nation among the top rank holders in terms of global competitiveness. Four factors, namely, economic performance, the government’s efficiency, growth of diversified businesses and a world-class infrastructure have catalysed national development, putting us strongly on the map.

Reem BinKaram, Director of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment has turned the spotlight on the milestone achievements of the nation’s women over the past five decades to reinforce UAE’s position as a global leader.

Bin Karam said: “The UAE National Day is a significant, historic observance not only for the nation, but the region and the world. It marks the birth of a concept of progress based on true partnership and collaboration among all members of society, of investment in human capital, and an era of exemplary achievements in attaining gender equity.”

“Today is a day to reflect on the various noble causes the union of the UAE has supported and promoted worldwide, review our many achievements and pave the way for successive generations to build on them.”

“As special an occasion this is for all Emirati citizens, the UAE National Day is especially significant for women across the nation – a reminder of how the Union has upheld cultural identity and heritage while transforming their lives by formulating policies and legations to offer us a vibrant landscape to learn, achieve, participate and contribute to our fullest potential – surpassing the conventional definitions of women’s empowerment.”

Amin Al Zarouni, CEO, Sahab Smart Solutions, stated that the UAE National Day is an annual opportunity to reminisce the unparalleled achievements of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in shaping the identity of the nation – a winning streak that has flourished for 49 years under the wise guidance of successive national leadership. National efforts continue to be exerted at both the government and private levels to the advance the UAE’s knowledge economy and digital transformation as an engine for sustainable economic development in accordance with the goals set forth in UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE 2071.
