Food District’s Dubai-based chefs, restaurateurs and food entrepreneurs

Food District, opening on November 8 and created by the brains behind Depachika Food Hall, is a new two-storey, licensed dining hub in Dubai celebrating 13 homegrown concepts all under one roof – the first of its kind in the UAE.

This indoor and terrace location at The Pointe on Palm Jumeirah boasts front-row views of the world’s largest dancing fountains, together with Atlantis vistas.

The first floor showcases ten dine-in brands from trend-setting Dubai-based chefs, restaurateurs and food entrepreneurs, alongside two licensed bars. Meanwhile, the ground level houses an artisan coffee and café concept, with sandwiches, pastries and a gelato stall.

This new one-stop, dine-in food market offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, paired with wine, spirits and cocktails from the following specialty vendors, each helming their own booth.

The first level will house Bite Me Burger & Get Plucked, Dibba Bay Oysters, Reif Japanese Kushiyaki, Smöl by The Lighthouse, Sticky Rice, Tandoornari & Wok Tales, The Roost, Wingsters and Bramble Bars.

The ground level will be home to Boon Coffee and Silk Gelato.

“Building on the success of Depachika Food Hall, we have developed the UAE’s first dedicated dine-in food market celebrating solely homegrown concepts with bar service – 13 to be exact. To top it all off, Food District’s location, with both indoor and terrace seating across two levels at The Pointe, overlooks the world’s largest fountain,” says Sandy El Hayek, food & beverage manager, Nakheel Malls.

Food take-out through Deliveroo is also available. Customers scan QR code menus to choose dishes, paying at the respective vendor. A buzzer alerts when the food is ready to collect. The expansive indoor and terrace dining area has been designed with plenty of safe spacing in line with Dubai Municipality’s Covid-19 health and safety regulations.

The décor reflects a casual, rustic and industrial style, with an exposed ceiling, and full length windows shining natural light into the venue. A number of different dining sections provide a mix of regular and high tables, along with counter seating to watch the chefs in action. The first floor terrace also offers lounge seating, in addition to regular tables.
