Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) is taking part for the second time in ChinaPlas 2014 trade exhibition, which kicked off Wednesday in Shanghai. Represented by a large delegation, Muntajat aims to showcase Qatar’s Chemical and Petrochemical products to customers and industry influencers from around the world during the event, which, over 30 years, has been one of the largest and most influential annual international trade exhibitions for plastics and rubber processing industries, gathering around 3,000 exhibitors and 120,000 visitors over its four-days period.

Muntajat markets, sells and distributes nearly 90 percent of Qatar’s chemicals polymers and fertilizers produced in Qatar, including the Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and the Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) marketed worldwide under the Lotrene brand. Conceived as the gateway to Qatar’s chemical and petrochemical industry, Muntajat has already begun to demonstrate added value to Qatar’s chemical and petrochemical supply chain by effectively reducing lead times and developing strong service relationships with new and existing customers worldwide.

“We are delighted to come back and participate in ChinaPlas 2014. When we first participated last year Muntajat was in its start-up phase, today the company has grown to become a respected global brand and our presence at Asia’s No. 1 fair for plastics is a great opportunity to demonstrate that,” Muntajat Chief Executive Officer Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdulla said of the company’s participation at ChinaPlas 2014. “ChinaPlas presents an excellent platform for Muntajat to showcase the ‘Made in Qatar’ polymers. Our participation strengthens Muntajat’s position as a leader in the marketing and distribution of chemicals and petrochemicals and demonstrates the value proposition of Qatar’s chemical, polymer and fertilizer products to international customers.”

Speaking on the importance of the Chinese market to Muntajat, Yousef Jeham Al-Kuwari, Muntajat executive director of marketing and sales, who also leads Muntajat B.V., the international marketing arm of Muntajat, said: “China is a key market for us as its continued growth requires a reliable supply of chemical and petrochemical products. As part of its global network of offices, Muntajat B.V. is in the final stages of setting up its first office in Shanghai in China, with another office in Guangzhou to follow shortly. This expansion demonstrates our commitment to better serve the Chinese market and our customers.”

Headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands, Muntajat B.V. recently announced the opening of five international marketing offices in Turkey, Malaysia, Jordan, Australia, and South Africa to service more than 19 markets. Muntajat B.V. is planning to open up to 36 Local Marketing Offices in strategic locations and cities around the world. Following the transition to Muntajat of 90 percent of the marketing process of chemicals and petrochemicals produced in Qatar, the company’s customer base has expanded to over 6000 customers worldwide and it managed to ship more than 9.2 million tons of chemicals, polymers and fertilizers to more than 120 countries.
