To celebrate International Women’s Day, Deliveroo gathered select F&B personalities partnered on the platform, run by women to come in and talk about their journey in one of UAE’s most dynamic industries while reflecting thoughts on this year’s theme for #EachForEqual.

In a closed roundtable moderated by F&B Consultant & PR maven, Farah Sawaf, seven ladies sat down to engage in a raw discussion about their unique experiences.

From the kind of support systems that enabled them to their biggest learning lessons and what they would do differently if they went back in time, the roundtable explored these independent women and their take on the idea of collective individualism; and how they champion gender equality every day.

The exclusive roundtable was attended by:

  1. Rowan Kamel, Cloud Restaurants, Chief Brand Officer
  2. Suzy Croft, 1762 and Appetite, Co-founder
  3. Baby Quey, Five JBR, General Manager
  4. Hadil Al Khatib, The Roost Rotisserie, Co-Founder
  5. Alia Al Elami, Looshi’s, Owner
  6. Sherleen Ali, Something Baked, Owner
  7. Marni Immelman, Deliveroo UAE Marketing Manager – Social Media, CRM and PR

“This year’s theme #EachforEqual emphasizes the strengths of the individual. As entrepreneurs, this should make us realise that by imposing our perceptions of how people perform based on our own mental stereotypes/biases we not only limit the people around us but our business potential as well. It takes events like these to really make us mindful & set the tone for the year ahead. Thanks, Deliveroo for creating this encouraging forum for women in F&B, second year in a row now!” says Sherleen Ali.

“Meeting all the women today at Deliveroo’s round table further reinforces the theme this year under the #eachforequal campaign. We all have some awesome characteristics and strengths and we all are proving to have a huge impact on society and we’re doing it effortlessly,” says Rowan Kamel.

Year to year, to celebrate International Women’s Day, Deliveroo brings together remarkable women that make its ecosystem come to life through their unique concepts and relentless determination.
