Warehouse421 launches the Warehouse421 Project Revival Fund, part of the program that aims to alleviate the disruption affecting the creative production impacted by the challenges arising from the Covid-19 pandemic. Applications are open today, to local and regional emerging and mid-career creatives across multiple disciplines in the MENASA region, through May 30, 2020. Visual artists, curators, literary creatives, designers, and musicians in the MENASA region, are encouraged to apply online through the Warehouse421’s website, for monetary packages that can go up to $2000.

Faisal Al Hassan, manager of Warehouse421 said: “We hope that the Warehouse421 Project Revival Fund will support the region-wide efforts to ensure the sustainability of the creative practices that make up our ecosystem. At the core of what we do at Warehouse421 is our commitment to support emerging talent in the region, and we hope that this fund will offer creatives the much-needed opportunity to continue their projects that were impacted by the current difficulties the world is facing.”

Applications will be assessed on several criteria including urgency, budget viability and impact. Applicants above the age of 21 can apply through an online application available in both Arabic and English. Submissions will be screened by a selection committee that includes members of the Warehouse421 team and cultural practitioners from the region. The funds allocated to the selected creatives will cover the costs of producing and finalising projects that are currently on hold, including but not limited to library and digital learning resources, transcription and translation services, rental and purchase of equipment, art materials, and other tools that facilitate continuing the project while isolating at home.

Some of the selected projects will have the opportunity to be part of the Warehouse421 program of exhibitions and community-wide initiatives, in its continuous effort to provide a platform for creatives from the region. The Warehouse421 Project Revival Fund is open to creatives in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia region. Applications are available online in both Arabic and English, and the deadline for submission is May 30, 2020.
