An artists’ collective under the umbrella of Alia Art Centre in Abu Dhabi, has pledged it will contribute any money raised through sales of its artworks by four Arab artists to Ma’an’s ‘Together We Are Good’ programme.

Led by Emirati artist Alia Al Suwaidi, the collective includes three Emirati artists, Hoda Al Junaibi, Moza Al Mansouri and Maryam Al Mansoori as well as an Egyptian, who paints under the name of ‘Asran’.

They are promoting and selling their artworks through their own social media channels and have generously offered to contribute any revenues to ‘the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an’s ‘Together We Are Good’ programme to support the community in the current health and economic situation.

The ‘Together We Are Good’ programme is the first project of Ma’an’s Social Fund that allows community contributions to help tackle social challenges. The Social Fund is the official government channel to receive contributions from the community to tackle pressing social challenges.

Alia Art Centre is owned by Alia Al Suwaidi, a licensed art teacher, and provides online art- focussed learning. She set up the art centre in 2016 as a personal passion project and provides free online teaching sessions for students to ignite their passion and encourage them to express themselves through art.

Alia Al Suwaidi, manager of Alia Art Centre, said: “We feel proud of our contribution to Ma’an’s ‘Together We Are Good’ programme, and consider our contribution with my team of artists a national duty. It’s so important to support the people of our society in the current economic and health situation, and invite all those who are able to contribute whatever they can to face this exceptional challenge.”
