Dubai Land Department (DLD) expressed its support for the directives of HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Judicial Council, to stop the implementation of rental evictions of houses and commercial establishments for which a decision was issued to close them in whole or in part due to non-payment of rent during March and April 2020.

DLD, through its Rental Disputes Center (RDC), affirmed its commitment to the directives that take into account the social distancing regulations in light of the current global crisis, mitigating its negative repercussions on society and protecting its members at all health, economic, and social levels.

HE Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, commented: “These directives highlight the leadership’s keenness to help and support the society in overcoming the current crisis, which requires everyone’s support. On this occasion, we can only express our heartfelt gratitude to real estate owners who voluntarily initiated to support the preventive and precautionary measures announced by the wise government in the UAE to limit the spread of COVID – 19 and support the dedicated efforts of medical employees, who are the first line of defence, including doctors, nurses, technicians, and assistants, by presenting their buildings to be used for quarantining purposes should the need arises.”
