Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities and waste management solutions in the GCC, has been named ‘Green Facility Management Organization of the Year’ at the 2015 Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC) Awards for its commitment to sustainability.

The award ceremony was recently hosted at Al Murooj Rotana Hotel in Dubai where H.E. Dr. Thani Ahmed Al-Zayoudi, Director of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Energy and Climate Change Department, was the Guest of Honor.

As a pioneer in initiating green solutions and promoting recycling, Imdaad has always championed the cause of sustainability with an aim to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint.

Because of its persistent efforts towards initiating green solutions, it became the first and only FM company in the UAE to operate garbage collection vehicles on bio fuel in addition to having a trained staff to offer Green Building FM services to client.

Jamal Abdullah Lootah, CEO, Imdaad, said: “Imdaad has a dedicated team of trained professionals for implementing Green Building FM services along with highly specialized equipments for waste collection and sorting of recyclables. Moreover, we continue to develop and launch awareness programs to educate the local community about sustainable FM and waste management solutions that can lead to a greener, healthier environment for the present and future generations.”

“Receiving the EGBC Awards is an honor as it recognizes our outstanding contribution to the green building sector and will be a motivation for us to continue launching innovative solutions that protect and preserve our environment,” he added.

The Emirates Green Building Council, an independent forum aimed at conserving the environment by strengthening and promoting green building practices, is the Organizer of the EGBC Awards. It recognizes excellence in sustainable initiatives by organizations and individuals from across the MENA region.

Imdaad has gained a strong reputation in the region as an adopter and implementer of the latest FM technologies and practices. The company acquires eco-friendly equipment and prioritizes sustainability across all its operations.

It also conducts recycling training for its clients, corporate partners and staff, in addition to providing free recycling bins in certain projects where it handles waste management and collection services.
