25th Edition COMEX Takes Off

COMEX, the region’s leading ICT trade fair was officially inaugurated by HE Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas, in the presence of H.E Dr. Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Salim Al Futaisi Minister of Transportation and telecommunication as well as other government heads and Oman International Trade & Exhibitions, the organisers of this flagship event. COMEX will run from April 27– May 1st.

Industry heavyweights like Cisco, Ooredoo, Avaya, Microsoft, GBM, Omantel, MGIT and Oman Fiber Optics have supported COMEX 2015 as key sponsors. Other exhibitors include companies from Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, India, Italy, Jordan, Yemen, Estonia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Lithuania. These participants will introduce attendees to the latest research and development in technology, new products and new opportunities that will help companies to upgrade technology platforms.

Dr. Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi CEO, ITA Oman remarks, “We are greatly encouraged at the growing response we are receiving to COMEX, not only from technology companies but also government bodies. The opportunities to learn, adopt and implement in Oman are enormous. Not only are we exposed to the latest technology platforms and services, we also see how these innovations will bring better governance, collaboration and connectivity that aims to improve the quality of life.”

The ITA pavilion is hosting international government bodies from Singapore, Lithuania, Estonia and Kuwait. A total of 30 Omani Ministries and Public Authorities are also present in the pavilion to share expertise and explore new business opportunities in the field of ICT, as well as to learn through case studies of countries present.

A key component of COMEX 2015 are the seminars conducted concurrently for business visitors and the general public. These are scheduled in convenient half-hour sessions and will cover a range of topics such as ERP solutions, HR management software, marketing optimization platforms, launch of new applications and next generation technologies.
