Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) inagurates emergency center in the Southern Suburb of Beirut

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has launched a USD-4.5-million emergency center in the Southern Suburb in Beirut.
Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the opening ceremony, KFAED Director-General Abdulwahab Al-Bader said the emergency center, which is part of KFAED-funded projects in Lebanon, consists of several sections for response to fire, road accidents and natural disasters, along with a personnel training department.
The KFAED attaches much attention to social development projects in Lebanon, he said, stressing the significance of KFAED-launched projects in this Arab country with a view to improving its economic and infrastructure utilities.
For his part, Lebanese member of parliament Ali Ammar voiced much thanks and appreciation to the Kuwaiti government and people for their nonstop assistance to Lebanon in different development fields.
President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) Nabil El-Jisr also expressed gratitude to Kuwait for sparing no effort to help Lebanon in the event of difficult conditions.
He said KFAED-bankrolled development projects in Lebanon include health, educational, water and transport areas.
KFAED has signed with Lebanon 22 loan agreements worth KD 211 million. The fund also provided eight grants worth KD 3.5 million to fund projects in Lebanon in healthcare and government training sectors.
