Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jordan Mobile Telephone Services Company (Zain) on the development of entrepreneurial ecosystems in Dubai and Jordan.
DSOA through its Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre (DTEC); the largest entrepreneurship centre in the region and Zain through its Innovation Campus will encourage the integration of young Emirati talent into the telecom sector and facilitate the professional growth of employees through hosting periodic training courses, workshops, seminars and conferences.
The MoU additionally mandates both parties to provide entrepreneurs and campus members with access to their respective technology, equipment and network.
Commenting on this MoU, Shahla Ahmed Abdul Razak, Deputy CEO of DSOA, said, “Dubai Silicon Oasis has launched several initiatives to support the growing community of entrepreneurs in the technology sector. The agreement further strengthens the symbiotic relationship shared by the two organisations. As an integrated hi-tech park, we are committed to offering comprehensive services, amenities and activities to investors and stakeholders. We are keen to strengthen cooperation and collaboration with various private institutions across the region as part of our continued commitment to articulate the national priority to support entrepreneurship.” Zain Jordan Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Hanandeh commented, “We are glad that Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority joins Zain Jordan as one of its strategic partners, where this partnership will contribute in shedding the light on Jordan that has become a regional center for capabilities and innovative ideas, and a hub for evolving entrepreneurship and startups”.
He added, “This partnership will provide Jordanian entrepreneurs the opportunity to access the expertise of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority in the realm of entrepreneurship, noting that UAE has several unique achievements in the entrepreneurship domain that consequently led to maintaining a leading position around the globe.” Hanandeh stressed the significance of focusing on innovation and creativity, especially after witnessing the quantum leaps in the field of technology that had a major contribution in altering the lifestyles of people, which revealed the need to present innovative ideas in various areas that match the developed digital era.”
