United Arab Shipping Company (UASC), a leading global shipping company based in the Middle East, announced today that it will open a wholly-owned representation in the Swiss market as of 1st January 2015.

UASC’s new agency in Switzerland will be a subsidiary of UASAC Deutschland GmbH and will take over all agency activities from Fiege Logistics, which successfully represented UASC in the Swiss market for 24 years.

The change in representation in Switzerland is part of UASC’s growth plan and customer-focused strategy, and it highlights the importance of the Swiss market for UASC. Additionally, UASC’s recent cooperation agreements with Ocean Three and Hamburg Sud will unlock access to several new markets for European customers, in general, and for Swiss customers, specifically. This opportunity to expand services and diversify the cargo portfolio will further cement UASC as a leading carrier in Europe.

“The Swiss market is growing rapidly and this represents a great opportunity for UASC to further strengthen our presence and improve customer accessibility and services,” said Detlev Kerber, Vice President of the UASC Europe Cluster.

“UASC’s mission is to provide highly competitive products that enable customers to reach markets across the globe and stay ahead of their competitors. To achieve this, we place customer service at the very heart of our operations. We believe that establishing a wholly-owned UASC presence in the Swiss market will enable us to directly understand our customer requirements and build enduring relationships that deliver tangible business results,” Kerber added.

“Fiege Logistics successfully represented UASC in Switzerland for the past 24 years, and they played a vital role in achieving a strong presence in the Swiss market and realizing our growth and expansion strategies in Switzerland to date.

We would like to thank them for their commitment and support throughout the years and we look forward to continue working with them as an important customer in the Swiss market,” Kerber concluded.

“We have worked closely with UASC over the past years and have witnessed the significant growth and expansion activities that have positioned the company as a leading global carrier. As an experienced logistical company, we helped to build and develop UASC’s presence in the Swiss market through high quality interactions with the Company’s customers.

We wish UASC all the best with their future plans in the Swiss market, and we will provide the necessary support to ensure a seamless and smooth transition for our customers,” said Markus Warnebold from Fiege Logistics.
