John Hurley, Dublin Airport Authority and Liza Hammond, Etihad Airways, celebrate the airline winning the awards for Best Longhaul Airline at the Irish Travel Trade Awards 2014

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has won three major travel awards at two ceremonies in Dublin.

The Abu Dhabi-based airline received the award for Best Longhaul Airline at the Blue Insurance Travel Media Awards, as well as the Best Longhaul Airline and Best Business Class Airline at the Irish Travel Trade Awards on Friday 28th November.

The Travel Media Awards took place at Dublin’s Clyde Court Hotel with the event hosted by TV and radio personality, Kathryn Thomas. It is the third year the awards have taken place, with all categories voted for by Irish travel media.

Meanwhile, over at the Double Tree by Hilton in Dublin, Etihad Airways claimed its two major Irish Travel Trade awards in front of 300 industry professionals.

Beatrice Cosgrove, Etihad Airways’ Ireland Country Manager, said, “We are over-the-moon to win these three fantastic titles voted for by members of the trade and mainstream travel media in Ireland.

“Industry recognition like this is fantastic for Etihad Airways and illustrates the positive impact we continue to make in meeting and exceeding the expectations of our guests in Ireland.

“We’re proud to be in this position as a leader in product and service delivery and will use these awards as a springboard for more success.” Etihad Airways, which has been flying to and from Ireland for more than seven years, operates double daily flights between Dublin and Abu Dhabi. This highly popular service connects onwards to dozens of destinations in Asia, including many in Thailand, Malaysia and Australia.
