Ashghal Organizes Community Event on Developments of Rawdat Al Khail Street Extension Project

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) in collaboration with Al Jabir Transport and General Contracting Company organized a community event with representatives of businesses, residents, and schools in the area of Rawdat Al Khail projects.
The event aimed to update the community on the development of the project and procedures implemented in the area during future construction stages of the project.
The event was attended by Eng. Nasser Ghaith Al Kuwari, Manager of Expressway Projects Department in Ashghal and Abdullah Saad Al Saad Manager of the Public Relations and Communications Department in Ashghal, in addition to representatives of the company implementing the project.
10 million man hours of work without injury were also celebrated during the event, where Eng. Nasser Gaith Al Kuwari Manager of Expressway Projects Department presented a memento to Mr. Mohammed Jawhar, Managing Director of Al Jabir Transport and General Contracting Company.
Al Jabir has been committed to safety standards in work zones, and has implemented a number of safety initiatives for this project including the “Mobile Training Centre” initiative. As part of this initiative a bus was fully equipped with training facilities to train workers and supervisors, and to provide a number of specialized courses on various safety issues such as working in confined or high areas, how to avoid the dangers of the heat, and other important safety measures to ensure the workers and visitors safety.
During the event, Ashghal introduced the Expressway Programme of which Rawdat Al Khail Extension project is part of. Also a presentation was given on the development of the project, traffic diversions and safety instructions for visitors and workers during construction.
The event witnessed interaction from the area residents and businesses, who showed keen interest and asked questions that were answered by the project engineers. Their suggestions and requirements were also taken into account.
The community event is part of a community outreach programme implemented by the Ashghal to enhance the cooperation and communication between the authority and the local communities, and to support a smooth implementation of its projects with minimal effect on the community.
The community engagement programme for Rawdat Al Khail Street Extension project also included an initiative that aimed at enhancing the safety of students by providing safe accesses to schools in the area, in coordination with schools management.
Rawdat Al Khail Street Extension project includes the construction of about eight kilometers in both directions between the East Industrial Road Interchange and Mesaimeer Interchange.
This is in addition to developing approximately two kilometers from the F-Ring Road, between the Mesaimeer Interchange and Bu Hamour Interchange.
The main industrial road will comprise four lanes in each direction, separated by a median with parallel running service roads and auxiliary lanes.
As part of the project, four multi-level interchanges will be built along the main industrial road and one multi-level interchange along the F-Ring Road which intersect with the Wholesale Market Street.
It also includes a directional tunnel providing access to the new Barwa development to the south of Industrial Area Road.
