ADNOC Distribution launches awareness campaign on LPG cylinders usage

ADNOC Distribution has launched a public awareness drive to promote the safe usage, handling and transportation of LPG cylinders and regulators across its network of service stations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as well as those in the Northern Region.

The awareness campaign, launched yesterday, will utilise various communication channels and tools including distributing leaflets to motorists and broadcasting messages to promote the safe use of LPG cylinders and regulators through selected local radio stations.

Khalid Hadi, Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communication at ADNOC Distribution, said, “We are keen to communicate best practices for the safe handling of LPG cylinders to the public, as well as share information on the preventive measures that must be implemented without fail to ensure consumer safety.

“In our latest campaign, we are leveraging a host of communication tools to make sure our messages reach the widest possible cross-section of the public and facilitate a safe and accident-free environment in Abu Dhabi and the wider U.A.E..” ADNOC Distribution routinely advises customers to follow the recommended safety instructions detailed on fliers and manuals that are distributed across its service station network.

The month long campaign instructs customers not to carry more than two cylinders at a time in cars and to avoid leaving cylinders inside vehicles during the hot summer months, and also offers offers recommendations on the storage of cylinders in upright positions.

Easy to practice tips for conducting regular inspections to detect possible structural damages and leaks are also provided to the public, among other crucial ‘do’s and don’ts’.

ADNOC Distribution currently retails 25 and 50 lbs gas cylinders daily at its service stations in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah.
