Board of Directors of Qatar Petroleum Holds Meeting

Qatar Petroleum (QP) Board of Directors held its first meeting in its formation headed under HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohamed bin Saleh Al Sada in the presence of HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce and QB Board Deputy Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani and members of the Board HE Ali Minister of Finance Sharif Al Emadi, Dr. Ibrahim Al Ibrahim, Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, Nasser Khalil Al-Jaida, and Managing Director Engineer Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi.
A press statement issued by Qatar Petroleum said the Board reviewed during the meeting the agenda and took appropriate decisions thereof.
Engineer Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi was appointed Managing Director of the Department of Qatar Petroleum. From 2006 until this appointment, Eng. Al-Kaabi was the Director of QP’s Oil & Gas Ventures Directorate, where he was overseeing all of Qatar’s oil and gas fields’ developments as well as all the exploration activities in Qatar.
In 1986, Al-Kaabi joined Qatar Petroleum as a student on a scholarship to study petroleum and natural gas engineering at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States, and in 1991 he earned a Bachelor of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering. Immediately after graduating, he joined the Fields and Rservoirs Development Department of Qatar Petroleum, where he held Many of the technical and supervisory positions till he became the Manager of the North Field Development.
